Malpractice Risks in Residential Landlord-Tenant Law

Please join Vivien Lyon of Lyon Legal Services LLC and J. Michael Harris from Reeves Kahn Hennessy & Elkin in a free CLE on “Malpractice Risks in Residential Landlord-Tenant Law.” The Zoom webinar will be presented on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The speakers will discuss malpractice traps in the different FED (Forcible Entry and Detainer) stages, from notice and service, to the first appearance, settlement agreement, and trial. They will cover post-tenancy issues that can expose lawyers to liability such as closure of tenancy, the security deposit, and abandoned property. The speakers will also provide an update on the eviction moratorium, share their thoughts about a potential upcoming wave of evictions, and conclude with a discussion on jurisdictional and local code issues.

Please use the link below to register for the webinar. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email and instructions for joining the webinar at the scheduled time.

The registration deadline is 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021.  Please note: Registration will close early if we reach our Zoom webinar capacity of 500 people.

1.5 MCLE Practical Skills credits will be applied for.
